Moving in the Heat

So, once again, it's time for the yearly move. This time, it's not the usual end of June move, it's the end of May move. My SAHD was very hopeful that the temperature would be below 100 degrees, but alas, a freak hot front has come in and the temperature has climbed above 100 once again.

Bisphenol-A and Teavania

Yeah, I knew something was up with that "perfect tea maker". Just the name alone. Nothing in this world is perfect. Especially if it's from a corporation. So, when I asked teavania about the BPA use in their "perfect tea maker" I received the predictable corporate answer...
The use of polycarbonate plastic in food and beverage applications continues to be authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the European Commission Scientific Committee on Food, the United Kingdom Food Standards Agency, the Japanese Ministry for Health, Labor and Welfare and other regulatory authorities worldwide. This plastic is used in baby bottles and water bottles as well.

The polycarbonate is considered to be a number 7.

Thank you.

If you consider that the "perfect tea maker" is designed to boil water for tea, your risk of dosing on BPA seems pretty high according to this article...

Decide for yourselves, my 'perfect tea maker' is going into the 'perfect' recycling bin.
